COVID-19 Updates

Dear Church Family-

I’m sure many of you have seen the news that Governor Steve Bullock has strongly recommended against holding gatherings of more than 50 people to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The question many of you are asking is “What does this mean for our church?”

For the next two weeks we are postponing all public gatherings in our facility, BEGINNING TODAY, to comply with the Governor’s request. This includes the following…

  • Sunday Worship Service
  • Rooted Groups
  • Celebrate Recovery
  • Youth Group
  • Men’s Basketball
  • All other regular gatherings

“His” Food Pantry will still be running on its regular schedule on Thursday March 26th from 5:30pm to 7pm with a drive thru model to serve the needs of our community. If you are in need of groceries we encourage you to come. If you know others in need, please help spread the word. It is vital that we step up as the church in this season and love our community.

Fortunately, I have some fantastic news for you. CHURCH IS NOT CANCELLED.

On Sunday morning I want you to get up like you normally do, eat your breakfast, and instead of gathering in our church building, gather in your houses. We are offering an online church service for you, your family, and your friends. This week you will receive an email with a link that will send you to this online service on our website

In the meantime, I’m asking you as your pastor to do the following things.

  • Pray. We believe that prayer changes everything… including this current national crisis! James wrote in James 5:16 "The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
  • Be a light. In other words, serve those around you who need help. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
  • Stay connected. Just because we are not physically meeting together, does not mean we stop caring for each other. Call, text, and use social media to fellowship together, pray for each other, and encourage each other. Hebrews 13 calls us to “Encourage each other daily while it is still called Today".
  • Stay in the Word. Nothing builds your faith, gives you peace, and brings you comforts like God’s Word. More than ever before we need to hear His voice through scripture and let him direct our steps. Psalm 119:105 reminds us "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."
  • Be faithful in giving. In times like this it is important to still be faithful in your routine practices of worship. Tithes and offerings are no different. It’s through your giving we are blessed as a church to help those in need. We encourage you to give online at https://camissoula.org/giving. If you have any questions at all on how to give online please do not hesitate to contact the church. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 9:7 "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully."

In this season please remember… Our church is not a building. YOU ARE THE CHURCH. As we gather in homes, remember that the early church in the Book of Acts did the exact same thing. I believe in the coming days the Church of Jesus will not be crippled by this, but rather be strengthened in His power and unity.

If you need prayer or have needs we can help you with, please call or email us.

God Bless!
Pastor Matt Lang
